Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Loomi ("Loomi", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Loomi mobile app and related services (the "Service"). Loomi is a well-being app built for couples. We designed it to help you and your partner grow closer, and we treat the information you share with us — much of it personal — with care.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by Loomi Development OÜ, the data controller responsible for your information. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at privacy@tryloomi.app.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information. You create an account using Sign in with Apple. Depending on your Apple settings, we receive your name and either your email address or an Apple private-relay email. We do not receive your Apple password.
- Profile and relationship details. Information you add about yourself and your relationship, and — if you connect with a partner — the link that pairs your two accounts. Loomi also works solo.
- Your content. Memories you create (including photos, captions, dates, and any location you attach), notes, answers to quizzes and tests, responses to daily conversations, and other content you enter in the app.
- Support communications. Messages you send us for help or feedback.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data. How you interact with the Service — for example, lessons and journeys completed, streaks, quizzes taken, and features used.
- Device and technical data. Device model, operating system and app version, language and region, time-zone, and a push-notification token if you enable notifications.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data that help us find and fix problems.
Location information
With your permission, Loomi uses your device location to power optional features: showing how far apart you and your partner are (the distance widget) and letting you pin memories to where they happened. To keep the distance widget accurate, Loomi may request location updates while the app is in the background. You can grant, limit, or revoke location access at any time in your device settings, and these features simply turn off if you do.
Purchase information
If you buy a subscription, the payment is processed by Apple through the App Store — we never receive your full card details. We (and our subscription-management provider) receive your subscription status, plan, and renewal information so we can unlock and maintain your access.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and sync the Service, including keeping a paired couple's shared content up to date across both devices.
- To personalize your experience. Any personalization we do is limited to quietly reordering what you see — we do not label content with reasons or ask you to rate it.
- To send notifications you have enabled, such as streak reminders and countdown alerts.
- To process subscriptions and manage entitlements.
- To maintain safety and security, prevent abuse, and debug and improve the Service.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. How we share your information
- With your partner. Loomi is built for two. When you pair with a partner, certain content — such as shared memories, streaks, sidequests, and joint progress — is visible to them by design. Please share only what you're comfortable with your partner seeing.
- Service providers. We use trusted vendors to host our servers, deliver notifications, and manage subscriptions. They may process your information only on our instructions and to provide their service to us.
- Apple. Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or Loomi.
- Business transfers. If Loomi is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Your choices and rights
You are in control of your data:
- Access and export. You can request a copy of your data, available from within the app.
- Deletion. You can delete your account and associated personal data from within the app or by contacting us. Deleting your account also stops sharing with a paired partner going forward.
- Correction. You can edit your profile and content in the app, or ask us to correct information.
- Device permissions. You can turn location, notifications, camera, and photo access on or off at any time in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability; where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; and you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. To exercise any right, contact privacy@tryloomi.app; we will verify your request before acting on it.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a commercially reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
7. How we protect your information
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and access controls that limit who can reach it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
8. Children's privacy
Loomi is intended for adults in relationships and is not directed to children. Because the Service includes mature relationship and intimacy content, it is rated 17+ and you must meet the minimum age in our Terms to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the minimum age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users and data transfers
We may process and store your information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers of personal data.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties — including Apple, our hosting provider, and our subscription-management provider — each of which handles data under its own privacy terms. This policy does not cover the practices of companies we do not own or control.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
